Town Girls Association (1921-n.d.) | National Louis University Archives and Special Collections

Name: Town Girls Association (1921-n.d.)

Historical Note:

The Town Girls Association, initially titled the Chicago Girls Association, was formed in the fall of 1921 by Miss Grace Hemingway, Social Director of the National Kindergarten and Elementary College, when the number of students who lived in town increased. The club's purpose was to unify "town students" and to create a relationship between dorm and town students. The club also was formed for "government, cooperation, and sociability", and the president of the Town Girls Association was typically a member of Student Government.

The Town Girls held dances, parties, luncheons, carnivals, along with other student activities.
